Partners Advanced Energy has been making pioneering strides in building science for more than twenty years, but we realize there's always new territory that needs to be explored. The Applied Building Science team does just that by partnering with diverse groups — building on past successes to achieve new ones. Our partners in progress include: Builders, Developers, Contractors Our building science specialists are committed to helping these professionals increase their profits by applying SystemVision techniques. Our offerings include open enrollment technical training, customized training, problem-house consulting, performance testing, quality assurance, project consulting, monitoring, and data analysis. We also share the latest field research and product research. Our living lab and training center provide the necessary components to successfully approach buildings, whether to understand, diagnose and remedy, performance test, prevent problems, achieve quality, or refine a process — in general, to achieve the high performance building and an improved bottom line. Non-Profit Development Organizations We share a vision with community development corporations and other nonprofit housing developers — a vision of building a strong and vibrant local economy with affordable places to live, good jobs, and successful local businesses. In recent years, we've been heavily involved with Habitat for Humanity and other non-profits trying to make that vision a reality. We have worked diligently to ensure that affordable housing isn't overlooked in our SystemVision offerings. In fact, our Affordable Housing has focused almost exclusively on affordable housing needs since its inception. Utilities Advanced Energy's applied building science team has partnered with utilities both regionally and across the nation in the design and/or implementation of major programs targeted to the building industry. Working hand in hand with utilities, we have developed programs that demonstrate their commitment to the community and to the environment. Our involvement runs the gamut from training builders and contractors, to program administration, to specialized research. Building Products Industry Savvy product manufacturers realize that buildings constructed using their products are only as good as the professionals who build them. Advanced Energy has partnered with several manufacturers over the years, creating programs that raise the level of proficiency of builders and contractors across the nation. Toward that end, Advanced Energy assists with program development, training, certification, and administration. Federal/State/Local Government Agencies Producing energy creates greenhouse gases that have been linked to global warming. In a recent report on the global environment, the World Watch Institute noted that unless fossil fuel use slows dramatically, the Earth's temperature in 2100 could rise to as high as six degrees above the 1990 level, according to the latest climate models. Such an increase could lead to acute water shortages, declining food production, and proliferation of deadly diseases such as malaria and dengue fever. Government agencies at all levels have become our partners in improving energy efficiency, protecting the environment, and improving the health, comfort and safety of building occupants. Together, we are conducting some of the foremost building science research in the nation.
