Krista Egger

Affordable Housing Program Manager

Krista Egger Krista Egger has been a vital part of Advanced Energy’s affordable housing programs from the beginning of her time with the company. She spent her first year with Advanced Energy as an AmeriCorps within SystemVision, North Carolina’s high performance affordable housing guarantee program, training in high performance building concepts, plan review, and field testing. At the end of that year of service Egger was hired to manage the day to day operations of the single family affordable housing program and ensure its continued innovation, growth and success. Her desire to help improve the quality of life of low income populations through quality, high performance homes fits well with Advanced Energy’s mission.

Egger cultivates relationships with affordable housing developers, builders, and subcontractors and develops processes to increase the efficiency and value of the SystemVision program. She also is responsible for managing the home rating process for all SystemVision homes, keeping a keen eye on the quality of these services while simultaneously working to increase the number of affordable North Carolina homes built to SystemVision standards. Egger is also rapidly rising as one of Advanced Energy’s key trainers, not only for the SystemVision program but also for Advanced Energy’s Principles of Building Science series, among others.

Prior to working with Advanced Energy, Egger interned with various historic preservation organizations, but it was her involvement with an international green affordable housing design competition which drew her closest to her current line of work. Egger believes that there is a strong correlation between housing quality and quality of life and hopes that soon all homes will be built to high performance standards to the benefit of all.

Egger attended Oberlin College in Oberlin, Ohio, and graduated with a bachelor of arts in art history. Her focus was on architectural history.
