HVAC for Non-Technical Staff

Technical aspects of HVAC equipment, installation and maintenance presented for non-technical audiences.

Course Length

2 days

Description

This workshop focuses on HVAC equipment as part of the house as a system. Attendees are introduced to the major types of HVAC equipment, covering their function, features and limitations. A non-technical overview presents basic technical issues, such as:

  • System sizing and design
  • Equipment components
  • Electrical wiring and controls
  • The refrigeration cycle
  • Combustion safety
  • Ventilation principles

Advanced Energy's HVAC 5-step installation protocol is presented, with emphasis on the important role of each component of the protocol. Also discussed are prevalent problems in the installation and maintenance of HVAC systems.
