HVAC Gas Diagnostics Series

This course is designed to set HVAC professionals apart from their competition in the installation, troubleshooting and/or inspection of HVAC equipment. The techniques taught may be used in both new homes or in a replacement, diagnostic or remodeling situation.

Who Should Attend

  • Basic Gas Servicing I  ::  HVAC technicians, entry level, Installers and startup personal with some field experience
  • Basic Gas Servicing II  ::  HVAC technicians with some field experience who want to increase their troubleshooting skills

 

Description

Basic Gas Servicing I

This session introduces both natural and propane gas appliances. Topics covered:

  • Physical properties
  • Safety
  • Wiring
  • Startup and testing gas pressure
  • Combustion safety
  • Sizing and piping gas lines for gas appliances

Gas Servicing II

A continuation of part I, this workshop further strengthens the troubleshooting skills. Topics covered:

  • System BTU capacity
  • CFM testing
  • Electronic controls fundamentals
  • Safety
  • Setting heat anticipators
  • Understanding wiring diagrams for gas systems
