Robert James Underhill ACCOMPLISHMENTS Robert James Underhill joined Advanced Energy in 2009 as an engineer supporting the transportation sector of the Industrial and Commercial Solutions team. He is a center manager and primary tour guide for the Duke Energy Envision Center and is involved in Smart Grid efforts. The majority of his work focuses on the implementation of charging stations for plug-in vehicles and the NC Get Ready! project. His responsibilities include project planning, management and solution support. Before joining Advanced Energy, Underhill gained valuable industry experience at Moog Inc. and GE Energy working with motor data and turbine compressor air foils respectively. Underhill has also worked on cathode gas channel modeling for Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cells (PEMFCs). MY PHILOSOPHY ON ENERGY EFFICIENCY Energy is one of the most significant issues that every community in every country of the world is facing now and will face for many years to come. Developing means of reducing energy consumption through energy efficiency, new technologies or the implementation of new, cleaner and more sustainable sources of energy are extremely important in planning our future.
