Scott Cesar RECOGNITION Member, American Institute of Chemical Engineers ACCOMPLISHMENTS Prior to joining Advanced Energy in 2008, Scott Cesar worked in Microbial Fuel Cell research as a biochemical engineer for the Oak Ridge National Laboratory. He utilized bacteria and designed a fuel cell to determine the best conditions for the production of electricity. Cesar also worked as a project engineer for IT3 Inc., working with and designing textiles mills and waste water treatment plants for the mills. He has conducted energy audits for industrial facilities around the United States and Central America. Today, Cesar now works for the organization’s Industrial and Commercial Solutions (ICS) team. He provides energy assessments for various industrial and commercial facilities around the country. These assessments determine the use of different forms of energy and practices to establish areas of improvement. As of November 2008, Cesar has completed 25 to 30 assessments, mostly for industrial facilities. Cesar has successfully found nearly $1 million in energy savings per year in a single industrial facility. MY PHILOSOPHY ON ENERGY EFFICIENCY I believe most every industry consumes more power than necessary to turn out their product. Energy efficiency is a concept industries should welcome. Energy saved equals money in the bottom line. EDUCATION Bachelor of Science, Chemical Engineering, Western Michigan University CONTACT INFORMATION scesar@advancedenergy.org |
