Working on behalf of member utility Duke Power, Advanced Energy recently completed comparative product testing for two Duke Power foodservice industry projects. Using our ability to provide independent, third-party testing, we've served up some vital information to food industry partners and a foodservice end-user.

Working at Duke Power's Advanced Cooking Technology Center, Advanced Energy performed comparative testing of insulated and non-insulated commercial fryers supplied by Henny Penny Corporation to determine the benefits of adding an insulated jacket to the fryer vats. The Electric Foodservice Council, an advocate for electric foodservice equipment manufacturers, instigated the testing. Griddle Me This, Griddle me That...
The owners of Japanese steak house establishment Kanki were planning to open another restaurant and were interested in exploring the possibility of installing electric griddles at the new location instead of the gas ones they have used for 20 years. They sought to increase chef and customer comfort while maintaining the cooking conditions essential to their trade. Duke Power called in Advanced Energy to perform comparative testing of their gas griddles versus electric griddles in the field and in Advanced Energy's Industrial Energy Lab. Read more...
