| WHAT |
Dozens of North Carolina high school students from multiple disciplines are involved in a real-world project to design and build zero emissions electric vehicles (EVs). Working with teachers and members of their community, the students convert an existing gasoline vehicle into a fully functioning and efficient electric vehicle. Their project is part of the educational program EV Challenge and includes driving events, oral presentations, environmental science projects, the design of a Web page, and numerous community activities. |

| COMMENTS |
Advanced Energy is a sponsor of the EV Challenge , an educational program of the non-profit Carolina Electric Vehicle Coalition. It is the only program in the nation that involves schools in a year-long series of events of this type. Challenge schools have received recognition in the Wall Street Journal, The News & Observer, Parade Magazine, and on many television and radio programs. |
