Contractor awarded for SystemVision approach during Greensboro Habitat for Humanity Builders Blitz[RALEIGH] - At the recently held Greensboro Habitat for Humanity Builders Blitz, Air Comfort Heating and Air Conditioning won the Duct Tightness Competition. This year marks the second consecutive year Air Comfort has received this award. "This award is important to us," said Barry Edwards, Air Comfort Heating and Air Conditioning owner. "It recognizes our efforts in providing services that go beyond what is required of our industry, providing greater comfort and energy efficiency to our customers." Air Comfort won with a duct blaster score of 24 CFM25, well below the SystemVision® standard of 34 CFM25. Nineteen builders using the SystemVision approach participated in the Blitz, which began on Sept. 18. Five days later, they completed 12 new Habitat Homes. Advanced Energy's SystemVision affordable housing program helps nonprofit housing developers build houses that are affordable, durable, healthier and guaranteed to be energy efficient and comfortable. RCD Corp. sponsored the competition and supplied two gallons of RCD mastic for each home. The SystemVision initiative was started by Advanced Energy in 2000, certifying more than 500 North Carolina homes and more than 50,000 homes nationwide in the past four years.
