Ken Dulaney, P.E. Director
Dulaney began work at Advanced Energy in January 2005 as a mechanical engineer on the Industrial Solutions team. In his short time at Advanced Energy he has already made many valuable contributions. He conducts energy audits and works with electric boilers. He is also involved in the Hybrid Electric School Bus (HESB) project. He performs engineering analyses and presents concise results to customers. Prior to employment at Advanced Energy, Dulaney was a project manager at URS, a global architectural, engineering and environmental consulting firm with an office in RTP. While employed at URS, Dulaney worked with military bases and the natural gas transmission industry. He focused on environmental permitting documentation, air dispersion modeling analysis and air pollutant emission testing. Dulaney developed the military standard for spill prevention, control and countermeasure plans for oil storage. Prior to that, Dulaney worked with CGN and Associates Inc. as a mechanical design engineer. In this position he used Pro/Engineer to design various products such as commercial restaurant equipment, injection molded mist inhalers and construction light towers. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in physics from Furman University in 1992 and a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1993. He also completed his Master of Science in engineering from the University of Texas at Austin in 1997. While completing his master's, Dulaney worked as a graduate research assistant in the flywheel battery containment group at the Center for Electromechanics.
