Industrial Process Heating

Hot Air Ovens

Also called convection ovens, hot air ovens can be fueled by gas or electricity. These ovens are the most common process heating device in the industry. They are the simplest of the process heating devices to understand and to operate, but they have throughput limitations and often can have significant temperature differentials.

Common Industrial Applications

  • Cooking food
  • Heating and molding plastics
  • General drying and curing

Industrial Benefits

  • Simple and versatile
  • Easily understood

Advanced Energy's Services

Advanced Energy can evaluate, test and recommend unbiased solutions to help you meet your objectives. We have years of experience in working with hot air ovens and can help you find the best settings and operational strategies for your particular operation.

Services available

  • Energy efficiency testing
  • Energy reduction studies
  • Product temperature studies using "mole" technology or infrared viewing. See the temperature profile of your product from side to side and from start to finish in your process.
  • Airflow adjustment
  • Exhaust reduction
  • Heat recovery opportunities

Many manufacturers who consider how and why they are using convection heating have determined there may be other appropriate heating technologies they should consider. Benefits of alternative technologies can include higher throughput, higher product quality and reduced energy costs. Advanced Energy's process heating experts will work with you on alternative technology considerations for your application.
