Sequence of actions for Compliance Certification (CC) of motors covered by U.S. DOE Regulations The deadline for submitting all applications for compliance certification was December 19, 2010. What do you need to do now? Even though the deadline has passed, Advanced Energy continues to offer services and assistance. Advanced Energy has the detailed knowledge and experience to assist motor manufacturers in meeting the necessary requirements. We have provided compliance services to 20 different motor manufacturers and all have received their Compliance Certificate on their first attempt. Our turnkey services provide the highest level of confidence in the shortest amount of time. Advanced Energy has closely followed and contributed to the development of the Energy Policy and Conservation Act (EPCA) since it was signed into law in 1992. Today we continue these efforts by participating in all DOE public meetings and contributing through the Notice of Proposal Rule Making (NOPR) process. The CC application process can take anywhere from 2-17 months to complete depending on the number of basic models covered under the law, availability of motor efficiency prediction models (AEDM), performance of initial test samples and flow of information. Below is an outline to help manufacturers, OEMs and distributors better understand the process.
