Advanced Energy—your source for product evaluation, selection, testing and verification—recently exhibited at the 2008 Motor, Drive and Automation Systems Conference in Atlanta, G.A. At the conference, several sessions generated conversations in the hallways and in our booth. Many of our booth visitors wished to discuss our testing and consulting services, some inquiring about our interest and ability to assist in set-up of motors and drives test facilities for them.
Assisting motor manufacturers and OEM’s with developing their own test capability means we help specify and install dynamometers and other test equipment appropriate for the types and range of equipment they manufacture and need to test. We have worked with numorous companies located in the U.S., China, Malaysia and Taiwan. We are also in various stages of discussion and implementation with additional companies, both domestically and off shore (including India), to assist in installing credible labs.
In addition to assisting with equipment installation, we provide the necessary training and guidance for best practices to operate and maintain the equipment. Because of our NVLAP (National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program) status, we have even assisted some of these facilities in becoming NVLAP accredited. This program is administered by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and requires regular audits by NIST to maintain accreditation.
Additionally, clients with their own very well equipped and well utilized labs continually call upon Advanced Energy to help during heavy test scheduling periods, provide motors and drives expertise, or to rely upon an independent third party when differences arise between their results and those of their suppliers.
Whether we assist companies in our accredited lab or in developing their own test capability, the net result is a more reliable and more efficient product—both of which are positive for our society and environment. Our mission is to create economic, environmental and societal benefits through innovative and market-based approaches to energy issues. Helping establish these labs is one more way for us to accomplish this objective.
A proven resource for you, Advanced Energy is interested and able to assist in setting up a motor and drive test lab for companies who value providing quality products to their customers. We encourage conversations about how we might help you and your organization.
