National Drive Electric Week 2017

By Lindsay Brecheisen | August 10, 2017

Established in 2011, National Drive Electric Week is an annual celebration to promote electric vehicles across the globe. Its goal is to encourage the growth of EVs by establishing a designated week of events to educate and share the experience of EVs with consumers, policymakers, the media and the general public.

These events include a range of activities, such as electric tailgate parties, parades, EV showcases, ride-and-drives, award ceremonies and ribbon-cuttings.

This year, National Drive Electric Week will be held throughout the week of September 9-17, 2017. Currently, over 200 events have already been planned or are in the process of being organized in numerous cities.

Want to get involved?

If you are interested in organizing an event in your area, National Drive Electric Week offers an extensive list of resources to help you in the process: how to get started, event planning, publicity, insurance coverage, preparation and follow-up for the event and many additional helpful resources.

Finally, there are many ways to sponsor or promote events to encourage a larger outreach. The sponsorships page outlines countless opportunities for various companies and organizations, both nationally and locally, to participate in.

Our North Carolina statewide electric vehicle program, Plug-in NC, will be hosting an event on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Research Triangle Park.
