Advanced Energy is excited to welcome Sam Berumen as an administrative assistant. Sam first joined the company in October as a temporary employee and accepted a permanent role in February.
Sam was born and spent her early childhood in San Diego, California, and moved to Clayton, North Carolina, when she was 9. She went on to major in English and gender studies at Arizona State University. Sam originally thought about studying biology but later became more passionate about writing, literature and social issues, so she changed course.
When she came across the opening at Advanced Energy, it seemed like a great fit. Sam had an interest in clean energy and wanted to work at a place where she felt she was making a difference. What motivated her to stay on permanently were the staff and culture of the organization.
As an administrative assistant, Sam manages our reception duties while supporting a few specific projects and programs, including Plug-in NC, STEPs4GROWTH and SystemVision. She also makes sure supplies are stocked and helps with mailing.
Outside of work, some of Sam’s favorite activities are writing, doing yoga, spending time outdoors, seeing live music, going on road trips and hanging with friends.
Sam is excited to keep learning and growing her responsibilities at Advanced Energy, and the admin team is glad to have her help.
