Advanced Energy Welcomes Scout Vieux as a Motors and Drives Co-op
Advanced Energy is excited to welcome Scout Vieux as a motors and drives co-op through NC State University’s Cooperative Education Program. Scout grew up in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and is currently a junior at NC State, where he is studying mechanical engineering.
Scout’s interest in engineering developed out of a love of cars. As a kid, he went to car shows with his father, and he collected lots and lots of Hot Wheels. He hopes to eventually work in the automotive industry and is enjoying his co-op opportunity at Advanced Energy as a great steppingstone along the way.
Scout joined the motor lab a few weeks ago and has been quickly learning the ropes from second-rotation co-op Thomas Hanson and the rest of the group. In his new role, he is helping to handle, test and log motors and variable frequency drives. Overall, he will spend three rotations in the lab, gaining independence and additional responsibilities along the way.
In his spare time, Scout enjoys getting out in nature and exploring. He is also building a Jeep Wrangler and is part of Wolfpack 4×4, an off-roading club at NC State that meets regularly for trips and excursions.
Scout is eager to grow his hands-on experience with the motors and drives team, and they are excited to have his help to further their impact.
