Advanced Energy and EPIC Announce Strategic Partnership

Advanced Energy and the Energy Production and Infrastructure Center (EPIC) at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte (UNC Charlotte) have entered into agreements to establish an ISO/IEC 17025-accredited motors and drives test lab at EPIC over the coming months. Through this collaboration, Advanced Energy will retain its customer base, and EPIC will own and operate Advanced Energy’s resources for testing motors and drives moving forward, effectively serving as a testing subcontractor.

The move of equipment and intellectual property began this month and is expected to be completed in two shipments. The first will establish a new test capability for EPIC while Advanced Energy continues to run its facility in Raleigh, North Carolina. There will be operating overlaps between the two sites and no expected delays in accredited testing.

Customers seeking motor and drive testing, product certification or other lab services should still contact Advanced Energy through our website or by getting in touch with Ronnie Alford (919-857-9045 / ralford@advancedenergy.org) or Kitt Butler (919-857-9017 / kbutler@advancedenergy.org).

Stay tuned for a second announcement once the EPIC lab achieves ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation.
