Advanced Energy Welcomes Toufik Sabri as a Motors and Drives Co-op

Advanced Energy is excited to welcome Toufik Sabri as a motors and drives co-op through NC State University’s Cooperative Education Program. Toufik was born in Algeria in North Africa, and his family moved to the U.S. in 2007. He’s lived in North Carolina since 2017 and is currently studying mechanical engineering at NC State.

Growing up, Toufik always enjoyed taking apart toys and other gadgets. When he got his first car, he was regularly tinkering with and working on it. This background paved the way for his interest in engineering, and when he saw the co-op posting at Advanced Energy, it seemed like a great fit.

Toufik joined our motor lab last month and has been quickly learning the ropes from the rest of the team. In his new role, he is helping to set up, test and log motors, and overall, he will spend three rotations with us, gaining independence and additional responsibilities along the way.

When not in the lab or in class, Toufik can likely be found working out, mountain biking or drawing.

In the future, Toufik would like to pursue a career in design engineering. For now, the co-op program will provide firsthand experience that he’ll be able to take with him and build on.
