Advanced Energy Welcomes Fatin Ishraq as an Energy Consultant
Advanced Energy is excited to welcome Fatin Ishraq as an energy consultant. Fatin grew up in Bangladesh and moved to the U.S. six years ago. He recently graduated from NC State University and the University of North Carolina Asheville, where he earned a joint degree in mechatronics engineering.
Fatin has always been drawn to engineering-related activities. He’s been tinkering his entire life and loves breaking things down to better understand how they work. While in school, he participated in a number of relevant student groups and organizations. For example, he was a leader of the Critical Services Microgrid Group, a citizen-led effort in Asheville that performs renewable energy cost/benefit analyses and assessments, energy audits, electric vehicle consulting and more.
Fatin learned about Advanced Energy from a webinar he attended that discussed electric transportation infrastructure and funding opportunities. He did some exploring and realized it would be a great fit. In his new role, Fatin is primarily supporting the distributed energy resources team, helping with interconnection commissioning and inspections. However, given his breadth of knowledge and interests, he is also contributing to the motors and drives lab and hopes to lend a hand in Advanced Energy’s other markets as well.
Outside of work, Fatin enjoys hiking and driving along the Blue Ridge Parkway. He also runs an aquaculture plant farming business, which stemmed from a pet rescue and adoption center he started when living in Bangladesh.
Fatin’s wide-ranging experience and expertise should allow him to make an immediate impact at Advanced Energy, and we are excited to have him on board.
