Advanced Energy Welcomes Olu Adewuyi as a Senior Energy Consultant
Advanced Energy is excited to welcome Oludamilare “Olu” Adewuyi as a senior energy consultant with our power systems team. Olu was born and raised in Ogbomoso, a city in the southwest part of Nigeria about a three-hour drive from Lagos.

Growing up with unreliable electricity, Olu wanted to know what Nigeria could learn from countries that had more stable power — that drove his interest in engineering.
He went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in electronic and electrical engineering from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, a master’s degree in electronic and electrical engineering from Obafemi Awolowo University, and a doctoral degree in interdisciplinary intelligent systems engineering from the University of the Ryukyus in Japan.
Following his graduate studies, Olu returned to Nigeria and worked as an assistant professor in electrical engineering (both his parents are educators, so Olu also has a love of teaching). He then held two postdoctoral positions, one in South Africa and the other back in Japan.
Most recently, Olu served as an assistant lab manager in the New York Power Authority’s Advanced Grid Innovation Lab for Energy. He ensured that facilities in simulators and lab equipment were available and accessible for both on-site and remote engineers.
When Olu came across the position at Advanced Energy, it seemed to align well with his professional training, skills and aspirations — he said he couldn’t pass it up. In his new role, he’ll be verifying inverter-based resources connected to the transmission system, ensuring they comply with the appropriate codes, standards and agreements. This service is essential for grid reliability, providing grid operators with assurance that their facilities will perform as expected.
When he isn’t working, Olu enjoys spending time with his wife and son, attending and serving in his local church, and watching soccer.
