Advanced Energy Welcomes Michael Madanat as an Energy Consultant

Advanced Energy is excited to welcome Michael Madanat as an energy consultant with our power systems team. Michael was born and spent his early childhood in Virginia and moved to the country of Jordan when he was 6. He returned to the U.S. with his brother last year and settled in North Carolina. While in Jordan, Michael earned a bachelor’s degree in renewable energy engineering from Middle East University.

Michael joins us most recently from Voltage LLC. As a quality engineer, he visited utility-scale solar facilities — he traveled to 15 states in less than a year — to troubleshoot issues related to DC and AC cabling and provide on-site guidance. Prior to that, he was with Mahatta Energy, where he supported the design and implementation of photovoltaic systems of all sizes and provided energy audits for industrial customers.

Having already worked in the inverter-based resource (IBR) space, Michael was drawn to Advanced Energy for the opportunity to further his expertise. In his new position, he’ll be verifying IBRs connected to both the distribution and transmission system, ensuring sites comply with necessary codes, standards and agreements. This service is essential for grid reliability, providing grid operators with assurance that their facilities will perform as expected.

When he isn’t working, Michael enjoys exploring new areas, taking photos, working out, driving and cooking — he recently made the traditional Jordanian dish Mansaf for the first time.
