Interview with Stewart’s Electric Motor Works, Inc.

We would like to congratulate our Proven Efficiency Verification (PEV) member, Stewart’s Electric Motor Works, Inc., on their recent EASA Accreditation, and thank them for their commitment to high-quality motor repair. Stewart’s has been a PEV member since 2012 and has continually shown their customer dedication through the products and services they offer. We reached out to Stewart’s to get feedback on the PEV program and EASA Accreditation program. They provided thoughtful responses about the benefits that come from participating in these programs.

Why did you decide to participate in the Proven Efficiency Verification program?

Primarily, it has always been about providing our customers with a product that helps them “Win”.  The PEV program ensures our customers that we at Stewart’s recognize their daily challenges in production goals and continued reliable operations.  Providing them with excellent service, quality workmanship and a proven quality program helps to reduce the pressures of operations, and allows them to seek other avenues that also enhance production and performance, so it’s a Win- Win for all!

How has PEV helped you differentiate yourself in the marketplace?

 Being the first in Florida established our company as a proactive leader in the electromechanical repair industry and has heightened a new awareness to energy saving methods.  Having third-party certification has strengthened our presence in the market and raised the bar in the rewinding field.

Have you seen any growth in business as a direct result of being PEV certified?

Of course, the certification has given us an inside track to those customers who understand the necessity of preserving efficiency.  Several customers have amended their specification to include PEV or have given a higher weight to those who have achieved PEV Certification during evaluation phase of approval.

Why did you decide to participate in the EASA Accreditation program?

Stewart’s Electric Motor Works, Inc. has been an active member in EASA since our initial eligibility in 1983.  We believe in the programs that EASA develops and participate accordingly. Our company continues to attend EASA meetings both on the regional and international level. The organization provides outstanding educational training for both our sales and production teams.

What differences have you seen between PEV and EASA?

Clearly, with PEV every motor rewind meets the standard set forth within the program.  All rewinds are approached with the same level of awareness and expectations for efficiency and performance according to name plate. This differs from the EASA Accreditation program where one can choose a particular motor for accredited repair.  The laboratory testing AE performs on the motors we rewind yearly for our continued PEV certification is the proof of the program, while the EASA accreditation requires an initial third-party audit and then is self-regulated for three years.  We have come to recognize the value each program brings to the market and agree both certainly raise the level of motor repair standards; however, most engineers say it is clear, one is better than the other! Unmistakably, after completing EASA accreditation program, it certainly improves our ability to utilize EASA’s excellent marketing effort and branding of the program and now most salespersons say it is clear, one is better than the other!
